Logline: A plastic surgeon, serving in the Marine Corps, has his life turned around after
suffering brain trauma from a roadside bomb attack in Fallujah that kills his entire platoon. Now homeless, he develops an uncanny sense of hearing voices and feeling them viscerally around him as he saves an LAPD officer from an attack; eventually, all of them form an undercover team to solve crimes on the streets of LA.
Synopsis: Dr. Joe DaVinci, a renowned plastic surgeon, botches a facelift, losing everything, including his wife. Distraught, he joins the Marines as Medic and Intelligence Officer and is
sent overseas. While on a mission, his entire platoon is killed by an IED explosion and he is the only survivor. After recovering from his brain injuries, and sent home, he loses all will to survive and winds up homeless on the streets of LA.
One night, while sleeping under the 6th Street Bridge overlooking the train yard, he
hears voices in his head, telling him that an LAPD police officer, LaTisha Jackson, is trapped
nearby in her car. She’s been ambushed by one of the South Central gangs, she’d been investigating. DaVinci, arrives on the scene, hearing muffled voices and feeling that his platoon is there with him. Together they extricate the unconscious woman from her car. But as police
arrive on the scene, he slips into the crowd knowing that he can’t explain what happened. Not
wanting the attention, he retreats to his homeless encampment.
Days later, she tracks him down to thank him for saving her life. After pressing for the
truth, he reluctantly discloses his past and the voices he hears. She is stunned and gives him her
contact information.
DiVinci and his “Ghost Platoon” work together with officer Jackson as she infiltrates the two of most murderous drug gangs ever to walk the streets of Los Angeles.
